Quilt Patterns by Corrine Sovey - Our Featured Deisgner
Posted by Robyn Thomas on 20th Mar 2023
Here at Cotton Cuts, we LOVE to feature quilt pattern designers. Certainly not a surprise, right? Our Puzzle Mystery Quilts are based on the creativity and talents of our own designer, Sheila Christiansen. And guess who has designed our recent spring mystery minis and last year's Valentine mystery, as well as our current Gnome of the Month? Our own Kim Moos!
But, did you know that each month we feature a fellow quilt pattern designer, and offer a free pattern from that designer with a Classic or Modern Maker Membership?
This month our Featured Designer is Corrine Sovey, of Corinne Sovey Design Studio. She has shared some of her amazing designs with our Classic and Modern Maker members. However, if you are in love with one of these designs, you can purchase your favorite one on our website.
Here are some of her designs. You decide which one you like the most.
Corrine says, "I have been quilting for almost a decade. I grew up the daughter of a quilter and have always had crafting in my blood. I'm a fan of both modern and traditional quilts, and like seeing how the two styles can work together. I often refer to my style as "Graphic Quilting" because I like bold, graphic shapes and bright colors."
Corinne Sovey is a quilter, graphic designer and color enthusiast located in Austin, Texas. She aims to make quilts that blend the graphic patterns of the design world with the time-honored tradition of patchwork. A fan of both modern and traditional quilts, her designs are contemporary and achievable by quilters of any level who aren’t afraid to tackle new skills and expand their quilty knowledge! In addition to designing quilt patterns, Corinne enjoys creating modern art quilts that have been in several past and hopefully future Quiltcons!
When Corinne isn’t quilting she enjoys working as a graphic designer in the animal welfare industry, spending time with her rescue Pomeranian puppy, Buttons, and relaxing in the pool on hot Texas days.
Which one of Corinne's patterns would you choose?
