Introducing Cotton Cuts Classic Ambassador Lindsay

Meet Lindsay! She is one of our Classic Box Ambassadors.

Lindsay has just joined Cotton Cuts as an ambassador and her first box will be in February! She was selected from a long list of talented and creative sewists. To get to know Lindsay a little better, we’ve asked her a few questions:

How long have you been sewing?

I've been sewing for about 6 years now. My husband got me a sewing machine for Mother's Day because I had been wanting to learn. I've always done something crafty. I learned to crochet first, then knit, then hand embroidery, and finally sewing!

How did you learn to sew?

I remember the exact moment I set up my first sewing machine and then got hit with the, "Now what?" thought. I had no idea what to do! It was YouTube to the rescue! I looked everything up and learned by trial and error. My first project was a super hero cape for my kids.

What is your favorite thing to sew?

My favorite thing to sew at the moment are quilted pillow covers. I am getting into sewing quilts more, but I also need a more instant gratification project. Pillow covers give me that feeling of satisfaction when I finish a project.

What is your favorite thing about sewing?

I love sewing because I need that creative outlet it gives me. I'm a stay at home mom and my youngest just started kindergarten this year. I have a lot more time on my hands now! Sewing keeps me busy and feeling productive

What is your favorite item you have ever sewn?

My favorite item I've sewn would have to be my Meadowland Quilt in Heather Ross fabrics. I love the scrappy look of it and I used up a lot of my hoarded out of print fabrics for it. It is my favorite quilt to date!

One of the things I am most proud of in my life is that I am a military wife. It's not always the easiest, but I am incredibly proud of my husband and all that he does for our family and this country.
