Quilts that Comfort and Care
Posted by Robyn Thomas on 13th Dec 2024
Did you know? Cotton Cuts puts together a charity quilt once a year, in conjunction with our current Puzzle Mystery Quilt. Our quilt sections are completed month by month, sewn by some of your favorite quilting influencers, and then our beautiful completed quilt is raffled off, with proceeds donated to one of Cotton Cuts many favorite charities.
Sounds like fun, right?
This year, our charity quilt was assembled from our PMQ Tree of Life, from the Woodland colorway. The fabric collection used is called Horizon by designer Pippa Shaw of Figo Fabrics.
These colors and patterns came together beautifully, creating a perfect blend of colors, from both earth and sky.
Each month, from February through October, a different influencer sewed together pieces of the Cotton Cuts Spring Mystery Quilt. They posted on their social channels about their sewing and autographed one of their pieces. At the end of the mystery, we sewed the blocks together and created a beautifully finished quilt, perfect for your home! To learn more about the mystery, click here.
In November, we opened up our raffle site so all could donate to our cause, Sew Powerful, and try their luck at being selected the lucky winner of Woodland. Our lucky winner was Debbie Campbell.
Beth of Gude Goods has graciously donated her time to quilt our charity quilt for the lucky winner. Beth is such a talented long-armer. We are incredibly lucky to be able to partner with Beth, as she is also a PMQ Ambassador. If you are looking for a long-armer, please take a look at Beth’s work and her services on her website.
Don’t miss out on your chance to participate in our next Charity Quilt Hop. If you are an influencer who wants to be part of the sewing team, make sure to reach out to our team and get in on the action.
And to all of our Puzzle Mystery Quilt detectives and fans, don’t miss out on your next chance to receive a future PMQ, courtesy of Cotton Cuts and all of those influencers we love to follow.
Stay tuned!
