Retreats Transform Your Quilting Journey

As a quilter, can you think of a better way to spend a week, or a long weekend, than collaborating with other quilters in a prime creative setting? A quilt retreat is a haven for immersing yourself in your creations, focusing on new, exclusive projects and developing lasting friendships with other quilters.

Quilting retreats are gatherings where quilting enthusiasts come together to share their passion, exchange ideas, and dedicate uninterrupted time to their craft. These retreats became particularly popular in the late 20th century as quilting experienced a resurgence, driven by a renewed interest in handmade traditions and the sense of community they foster. At a quilting retreat, participants often bring their own sewing machines, fabrics, and tools, and spend several days in a relaxed setting, such as a retreat center or lodge. Activities typically include working on personal projects, participating in group workshops or challenges, and enjoying camaraderie with fellow quilters. These retreats are not only a chance to make progress on quilting endeavors but also an opportunity to learn new techniques, share inspiration, and form lasting friendships.

Cotton Cuts is incorporating all of those elements of successful retreats into one fantastic week in New Orleans this summer, and all Cotton Cuts enthusiasts are invited to join us for a week in the Big Easy.

Can’t take a full week off from your life? We get it. But all is not lost. You could also join us for a long weekend of sewing fun and fellowship in Sonoma Valley California in September.

Both retreats include:

• Sewing Room available daily from 7am until 1am each day
• Limited sewing machines available to rent (or bring your own)
• 6 foot table to yourself so you can set up, organize, lay out your projects and store supplies
• Breakfast, most lunches, and snacks included daily
• Sewing a Cotton Cuts PMQ, 4 colorways to choose, from start to finish through the retreat
• Accommodations in a 4 star luxury hotel
• Swag bag, exclusive T-shirt, prizes and surprises await

And when in New Orleans, we will have the privilege of a 2-day workshop led by Giucy Giuce, otherwise known as Giuseppe Ribaudo, renowned quilter and designer. His design, Winding Ways (Wheel of Mystery) will be included in the workshop.

You will get to meet and spend time with Kim, as well as interact with other Cotton Cuts followers who all know and love our products. Enjoy daily collaboration with other quilters who all love to teach and share their tips and tricks and beautiful projects. Truly a sewing mecca.
