The Great Rosa Debate

Inner musings...

How will I choose my Rosa Holiday Your Way?

Once a year, Cotton Cuts puts together some of the best selections of sewing and fabric treats that you can bestow upon your favorite fellow sewer, or better yet, give an amazing gift to yourself.

Now you have to ask yourself the tough questions. Which ones will I choose? What is the best fit for me? And how do these gifts fit into my plan for my projects in 2025? Do I need more fabric options to start and finish my projects? Or do I need an assortment of essential tools to make it more efficient and fun to get the job done?

Let’s break down all of our Rosa options for this year…

Stitch-Its

If you love the convenience of putting together the pre-cut PMQ, but also love the idea of creating a project to meet your specific needs, then this Stitch-It option is definitely for you. All the colors are coming your way, providing endless possibilities to create quilts, wall hangings and table runners to your heart’s content. And neutrals in black, white and navy are also included, just in case you want to tone down those bright beautiful fabrics, or really make them pop. In the end, you will open up 12 packages, totaling over 500 triangles in assorted colors and sizes.

Put your rotary cutter and mat away and stock yourself up on thread because you are ready to sew!

Mini Mystery Table Runner

If you want to take those pre-cuts one step further, then I’d bet the mini mystery is for you. Sometimes you just want to sit and sew, and see your efforts pay off quickly.

I participated in the Mini Mystery last year and created a beautiful table runner in holiday red, white, blue and silver. It is actually my first completed project of note. I learned to quilt and bind with this project. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to work on their quilting skills from start to finish.

This year I am zeroing in on “Deck The Halls,” as I love the traditional red, green and gold. And I love that I have the option of adding in placemats this time. Even if I do not have the time to finish up in November, I love that I can work on these projects during the colder winter months right after the holidays. (My sewing skills are not very quick yet, so I have no delusions that I could finish up in November or December when my days and nights are busy with everyday activities as well as Christmas shopping, decorating, celebrations and my kids home during the holidays.)

What a fun activity to look forward to working on during the lull of January.

And don't forget to consider the placemats for your holiday table as well. This is the new addition for this year's Rosa options. You can order them in groupings of four. And they will coordinate with our Table Runner fabric selections. I can't wait to see these come together, and our sewers need to take photos like crazy to share with the group.

Holiday Pillow

Pillows are such a great way to spruce up your holiday decorations. They can really pop and bring out the festive decor of your room just by tossing them on a couch or chair. Can you really ever have too many?

Cotton Cuts LOVES Heidi Pridemore and the beautiful work of The Whimsical Workshop. How lucky were we to be able to partner up with her and collaborate on this lovely design? This one is really one of a kind.

This simple pillow project will get you in the holiday spirit. It’s so quick to put together. Just pick up a pillow form at your nearest craft store and you’re all ready for the holiday display.

Notions

Here is an option that has always intrigued me. As a new sewer, I love that I can collect so many new gadgets at one time. And these are chosen by sewers who know their stuff! What a great way to fill out my box of sewing tools. But here's the thing, this option is great for the newbie sewer all the way to the highest expert. Our pros have gone above and beyond to find the latest trending tools and analyzed which items are the best for all sewers of every level.

And really, if you already have a seam ripper, wouldn't you still LOVE to find a new, flashy one in your gift box? Can you ever have too many?

An added bonus, Kim is scheduling an unboxing where she will open up and peruse the fun things our team has found for this year's notions box. What fun. You don't want to have regret when she opens it up. Order your now!

Batiks or Cottons for Quilting, Oh my!

Trivia question: How many fat quarters does it take to create a twin size quilt? Answer: 12 to 16.

And with this fabulous Holiday Your Way offer, you will have 24 or 31 fat quarters added to your stash. You are a winner whether you choose batiks or cottons, and whether you would like to add 24 or 31 fat quarters to your stash. This is the perfect way to ramp up your fabric options, and have the creativity to cut them any way you need for your pattern. Each fat quarter has been personally selected by our creative Cotton Cuts team, with the latest and greatest from top designers like Robert Kaufman, Riley Blake, Moda and so many more.

You are going to receive selections from every color on the rainbow spectrum. You'll see your favorite shades that you gravitate to every time you are planning a new project. And those others, you will have the freedom to step right on out of your comfort zone, or use those fabrics in a whole new way. One thing I have discovered about selecting my own fabrics, is how exciting it is to have that perfect shade right there for an extra splash of something special as your project is coming together. Thinking outside the box is what it's all about. And its even more fun when that perfect fit is right there waiting for you.
