#ccstaycation Kim from Tennessee

Hello! My name is Kim Martin and I have been a Cotton Cuts member for over 2 years. I have completed several of the mystery quilts and am currently working on 2 more!! I just love the collaboration that Cotton Cuts has with Shelia Christensen, they are an amazing team!

I wanted to join in the #ccstaycation to tell you more about where I am from – Kingsport Tennessee. We are nestled in the foothills of the Smokey mountains and in close proximity to Johnson City and Bristol, together we make up the Tri-cities! We are known for Nascar, hiking, beautiful mountains and home to Eastman Chemical Company.

Interesting places to visit include:

• Bays Mountain

• Allandale Mansion

• 

• Appalachian Fair

Also, very close by is the National Story Telling capital of the world in Jonesboro as well at the Brights Zoo.

Fun Facts about me:

• I am a registered nurse since 1995 and have finally found my niche in the nursing world for the past 11 years as a hospice nurse! So very honored to serve those at end of life!

• I am married to a professional Bowler, Steve Martin aka Tennessee Twister for 42 years!

• We have 10 Grandblessings and 7 step-Grandblessings! (never a dull moment in my house!)

• I am a fabric hoarder! I love to look, feel and play with all my fabric and cannot get enough!

• We have 4 dogs and 3 cats! (only one of my cats sews..or at least she thinks she does!)

I love to sew and have a gazillion quilt tops completed! They are not finished due to my fear of actual quilting them! I will conquer that fear someday…soon I hope!

• I have lived in Kingsport all my life!

Fun Facts about Kingsport:

• We are home to the Kingsport Mets Baseball team

• Kingsport hosts a celebration every summer with food, concerts and contests called Fun Fest. http://funfest.net/
